Drag to look around a real night sky and zoom in on any star.
Real stars. Numbered cards. One shared sky.
The stars are real. Your cards and Astra are kept on your Sigil account.
How it works
Drag to look around a real night sky and zoom in on any star.
Fly in to a star, calibrate the telescope and scan every world around it, one at a time. Finishing an inspection teaches you about the star and earns Astra.
Spend Astra on packs of numbered cards: stars, planets and more. Collect the key stars of a constellation to finish its set.
Short jobs in the real sky: find a star from a few clues, spot the one that moves, or work out what is strange about one. They pay Astra.
Real events appear on the map in the week they happened. A supernova, a gamma-ray burst or the first picture of a black hole can be watched for Astra, once a year.
The cards
A card is one numbered copy of a star. Two copies of Rigel look the same except for their number and their brilliance: a rating from 0 to 5, rolled at random once when the card is made and never changed. The brightest copy of a star in a server makes its holder that star’s Keeper.
Astra and Dark Matter
The everyday currency. You earn it by inspecting stars and spend it on packs. You cannot buy it, and you cannot send it to another player.
A rarer currency for one special pack, the Dark Matter Cache: black holes, neutron stars and other exotic objects. Sigil Ember members receive a fixed amount every week. It cannot be topped up with money.
Neither currency turns into the other.

Yes. Exploring, inspecting stars, contracts and opening packs with Astra are all free. Sigil Ember members get a fixed weekly amount of Dark Matter on top.
Packs are random, like packs of trading cards. But you cannot buy Astra, packs or cards with money, and nothing in the game can be cashed out. The only paid part is the weekly Dark Matter that comes with an Ember plan.
No. The stars are real, but the worlds around them are simulated, and labelled that way.
The /sky command needs the same basic permissions as the rest of Sigil (send messages, embeds and attach files) and never needs Administrator.
Anyone who likes stars or collecting cards. A few minutes at a time is enough, there is no fighting, and everything in it is about space. Discord’s age rules apply.
