Every command
Type / in a server that has Sigil to see these. The list is the bot's own, so it is always up to date.
👤 You and your profile
Your profile, your level, reminders and your name colour. These work anywhere once you add Sigil to your own account.
/profile [user] [full]
Anywhere Shows a small Sigil profile picture in the channel: name, a line about them and a few key numbers (level, friends, views and streak), with a button to open the full profile. Leave the user out to show your own. As a Supporter, full:True shows the full poster instead, with favourite things, drawn on that person's own background. Without being a Supporter you get the usual compact picture and a private note about it.
/link
AnywhereOnly you Gives you the link to your own card and to the page where you edit it. Only you see the answer.
/vibe first [second] [detailed]
Anywhere A fun compatibility picture for two people who have Sigil profiles: a ring that fills to how much they share, a few words on how well they go together, and what they have in common. Name one person to compare them with you, or two to compare any two people. Shown in the channel; it never pings them. As a Supporter, detailed:True adds a full breakdown, category by category, of what they share and what they don't. Without being a Supporter you get the usual picture and a private note about it.
/weave [post] [ranking] [period] [channel] [pings]
Anywhere Weave is a daily word game: every day, everyone in the world gets the same nine letters (new ones at 00:00 UTC), and you make one word from them. The letters are worth points, the rarer ones more, every letter beyond the fourth adds a little, and one letter, the bonus letter (always an uncommon one), counts triple. /weave posts today's game in the channel with the letters as a picture and a button to play on the website; it is updated as people play, and at midnight it becomes the final scoreboard (names, scores and your server's rank among all servers). Words are never shown in the channel: only people who have cast see the perfect word and everyone's words (with no names), on the website. If today's game is already up, /weave posts it again in the channel you used it in and deletes the old message, so it is easy to find (at most once every 20 seconds). When the developer has turned the Weave Activity on, /weave opens the game as an Activity inside Discord and still puts the day's message in the channel (/weave post:True just posts the message). Server administrators can choose the channel the game is posted in every day, at the time of day your server first played, with /weave channel:#a-channel (the bot needs to be able to send messages, embed links and attach files there). Nothing is posted until a channel is chosen. The daily message pings the people who have played Weave on your server in the last month, haven't cast yet today and whose last game was played here (somebody in many servers is pinged in the one they last played in, not in all of them); anybody can switch that off for themselves on the Weave page, and administrators can switch it off for the whole server with /weave pings:False. The pings are real mentions in the message text, not inside the picture card, so they notify. They go out once a day: the first time the game is posted that day (by the daily reminder, or by somebody using /weave before it) pings those people, without the person posting it, and posting it again the same day pings nobody. Everybody who plays is placed on the leaderboard of every server they are in that has the bot. /weave ranking:True shows the ranking of everyone who plays as a picture along with where you stand: this week's by default (so a newcomer can win it), or period:This month or period:All time. Anyone can switch themselves off the leaderboards in Edit profile. Weave also works in private messages: with the bot, in a chat between people and in a group chat, /weave opens the game and posts the day's message there. In your messages with the bot that message is yours: it shows your result as you play, becomes your result at midnight, and the bot sends the daily reminder there, at the time you last played, as long as that was the last place you played (/weave pings:False in those messages switches it off).
/remind add|list|timezone
AnywhereOnly you Reminds you about something. /remind add when what sets one: when can be plain words (in 2h, tomorrow 6pm, friday 19:30, 2026-10-03 19:30), what is what to remember, repeat makes it come back every day or every week, and where chooses a private message (the default) or this channel. The reminder arrives with Snooze (10 minutes, an hour, tomorrow) and Done buttons. /remind list shows yours and lets you cancel one. /remind timezone tells the bot your time zone (Europe/London, UTC+2...) so "tomorrow 6pm" means yours. You can also right-click any message, then Apps, then Sigil: Remind me. It works anywhere, including private chats and, if you add Sigil to your own Discord account, in servers that don't have the bot. A reminder keeps only what you typed, and is removed once it has been sent and dealt with. Only you see the answers.
/afk [reason]
Marks you as away in this server, with an optional reason. While you're AFK the bot tells people who mention you, and the next time you write something it welcomes you back and takes the AFK off. It lasts until then, or a week. It works from who a message mentions and who wrote it.
/nowplaying [user]
Anywhere Shows the song someone is listening to, with the title as a link so you can listen too: what they are playing on Spotify right now (when the bot can see it and they haven't switched that off on Edit profile), or else the song in the My jam box of their Sigil card. Leave the user out to show your own.
/invites [user]
Shows how many people have joined this server with someone's invite links, and how many of them are still here. Leave the user out to see your own numbers, plus the people who have brought in the most. It only works in a server whose admins turned on invite tracking (Server dashboard, Invites tab), only counts people who joined after it was turned on, and shows numbers, never the names of the people who joined.
/birthday set|clear|show
AnywhereOnly you Saves your birthday so a server's bulletin can celebrate it. /birthday set month day [year] saves it (the year is optional and is never shown, not even your age), /birthday clear removes it everywhere and /birthday show tells you what is saved. On the day, any server you are in that has a bulletin and shows names can name you in it; nobody else sees your birthday. It follows the time zone you set with /remind timezone (UTC if you haven't). Works anywhere, including private chats. Only you see the answers.
/colour [colour]
Only you Gives your name a colour. On its own it opens a private colour picker: a wall of named colours in ready-made palettes (balanced, pastel, vivid, earth, neon, sky and sea, Sigil's own), or a colour taken from your avatar or your Sigil card, or a random one. Type a name (coral, sea glass) or a code (#F97316) to see a preview of your name in that colour on Discord's dark and light looks side by side, with how easy it is to read on each, before you commit. Wearing it gives you a colour role the bot makes for you (with no permissions at all) and takes your old colour off; roles nobody wears any more are deleted after an hour. Needs the Manage Roles permission for the bot. Only you see the answers.
/colours [palette]
Shows this server's colour wall in the channel: every colour in a palette as a named swatch, and how many people here wear each. Choose a palette to browse another. Anyone can press Choose your colour under it.
/level [user]
Anywhere Shows a level card in the channel: your progress to the next level, your friend count and how long you've been on Sigil. Leave the user out to show your own. Whenever an action gives you enough XP to level up, the bot shows this same card the next time you send a message, wherever that happens to be.
/leaderboard
Shows the highest Sigil levels among the people in this server, best first. The bot can't list a server's members, so this only finds people who both have a Sigil card and have earned some XP.
/help
AnywhereOnly you Lists the commands. Works before the server is set up. Only you see the answer.
/ping
Anywhere Checks that the bot is awake. It answers "Pong!". Works before the server is set up.
Right-click a message, then Apps, then Sigil: Quote card
Turns that message into a picture in the style of its author's Sigil card, showing who quoted it. It is posted in the channel. People can switch this off for their own messages in Edit profile.
Right-click a message, then Apps, then Sigil: Remind me
AnywhereOnly you Sets a reminder to come back to that message: it asks when, and sends you a private message with a link back to it. Only the link is kept. Only you see the answer.
🛠️ Run your server
For people who manage a server: welcome and goodbye messages, roles, tidy-up tools and schedules. Most are also in the website Dashboard.
/setup [channel] [cards] [reactions] [welcome] [confess] [preset]
AdminsOnly you For people who manage the server: sets Sigil up here. The games (Weave, /spy, /bomb, /keepup, /lfg, /icebreaker, /truthordare) and your own commands (/profile, /link, /vibe, /remind, /birthday) work in any server straight away; the server tools (welcome messages, auto roles, colour roles, role menus, counters and the rest) start working here once this has been run, or once someone who manages the server presses Set up Sigil on the hello Sigil posts when it joins. Nothing else is required: running /setup with no options just sets the server up. Everything it can choose is optional, and leaving an option out keeps what the server already has, so it can be run again any time. channel is where welcome cards are posted (entrance cards, and the welcome message: a hello with a Wave button, posted when someone joins, which /welcome lets you change completely); a server that never chooses one simply has no welcome cards, and cards:False takes it away again. welcome:False turns off just the hello message (it is on for servers set up from now on; a server set up earlier keeps it off until you turn it on with welcome:True). reactions:True lets Supporters' signature reactions work in this server (off unless you turn them on; reactions:False turns them off). confess opts this server into /confess: choose the channel anonymous confessions are posted in (/confess stays off until a channel is chosen). preset:Creator community is a ready-made start for a streamer's, artist's or musician's server: it sets the server up, turns the welcome message on in the channel you choose, and answers with a short checklist (a greeting that mentions your stream, a role for members, live counters, a Bulletin, a daily Weave channel and scheduled announcements) with the command for each. It creates nothing else. Only you see the answer.
/welcome
AdminsOnly you For people who manage the server: opens the welcome builder, a private panel where you design the message posted when someone joins. Change the text above the card and the card itself (title, words, colour, small picture, big picture, author and footer), with variables like {user}, {name}, {server}, {count} and {ordinal} filled in for each new member, and see exactly how it will look as you go. Choose the channel and turn it on or off, decide whether the new member is pinged, ping up to three roles (in the text above the card, because an embed never notifies anyone), have the message remove itself after a while, add up to two link buttons (for your rules, say), keep or drop the Wave button, and also send the new member a private message. Start from a preset (Classic, Friendly, Minimal, Rules first, Gamer, Cosy) and preview it before you use it, and send yourself a test. Sigil uses who joined: their name and picture. Only you see the builder.
/goodbye
AdminsOnly you For people who manage the server: opens the goodbye section of the welcome builder, where you design the message posted when someone leaves the server. It is off until you turn it on. Choose the channel (the welcome channel if you don't), the text above the card and the card itself (title, words, colour, small picture), with variables like {name}, {server} and {count}, see how it looks as you go, and send a test. It never pings anyone and is posted whenever Discord tells the bot someone is gone, which includes people who were kicked or banned. Only you see the builder.
/icebreakerauto times [channel] [ping]
AdminsOnly you For people who manage the server: posts an icebreaker question on its own, once or twice a day, picked the same way /icebreaker picks one. times:Off turns it off again. channel is required the first time it's turned on (and can be changed later); ping is an optional role to mention alongside the question, for example a "chat revive" role.
/promptadd kind
AdminsOnly you For people who manage the server: adds one of your own questions to this server's pool for /icebreaker, /truthordare or /confess, on top of Sigil's own list. Opens a short box to type it in. Stays local to this server, and is removed if Sigil ever leaves. Only you see the answer.
/stick message
Admins For people who manage the server: pins your message to the bottom of this channel. Anytime someone else posts, Sigil deletes the old copy and posts a fresh one below it (at most once every 5 seconds, so a busy channel isn't spammed with deletes and reposts). Replaces any sticky already in this channel; mentions in it never ping anyone, even when it moves. Use /unstick to remove it.
/unstick
AdminsOnly you For people who manage the server: removes this channel's sticky message, if it has one. Only you see the answer.
/autothread mode [name] [archive]
AdminsOnly you For people who manage the server: makes every message posted in this channel start its own thread, which suits suggestion, showcase and question channels. mode:On turns it on here (and changes how it is set up if it already is), mode:Off turns it off. name is what each thread is called, with {author} where the person's name goes and {date} for the day (up to 60 characters; the default is "{author}'s thread"). archive is how long an idle thread stays open before it tucks itself away: 1 hour, 1 day (the default), 3 days or 1 week. Messages from bots aren't threaded. It needs the Create Public Threads and Send Messages in Threads permissions in the channel. Only you see the answer.
/schedule add|list|remove
AdminsOnly you For people who manage the server: posts a message later, once or on a repeat. /schedule add text when [channel] [repeat] [timezone] [ping]: when can be `in 2h30m`, `tomorrow 6pm`, `friday 19:30`, `2026-10-03 19:30` or a Discord timestamp pasted as it is. Clock times are in the timezone you give (a name like Europe/London or America/New_York, or an offset like UTC+2; UTC if you leave it out), and a repeat (every hour, day, week or month) keeps the same clock time through daylight saving. channel is where it goes (this one if left out); ping is an optional role to mention - a scheduled post can never ping @everyone or a person. /schedule list shows this server's scheduled posts and /schedule remove id cancels one. Up to 15 per server. If Sigil is away when one is due it is sent late only up to 6 hours, then skipped. Only you see the answers.
/counters add|remove|list
AdminsOnly you For people who manage the server: puts live numbers in channel names, like "👥 Members: 1,234". /counters add stat [name] makes a locked voice channel (in a "Server stats" category) that shows members, users (the people, bots left out), bots, online members, server boosts, the boost level, roles, channels or emojis, and Sigil keeps the number up to date about every ten minutes. name can be your own wording with {count} where the number goes. /counters remove stat deletes one and /counters list shows what is set up here. Needs the Manage Channels permission. (Discord only tells Sigil how many boosts a server has, not who boosted, so boosters are counted as boosts.) Only you see the answers.
/mediaonly mode [replies] [per_member] [chat]
AdminsOnly you For people who manage the server: makes the channel you use it in a media-only channel, for pictures, videos, GIFs and stickers, with conversation kept elsewhere. mode chooses how: pictures only (anything else is removed with a short note that goes away by itself), pictures with a few replies (a picture may get up to replies text replies in all, and one person at most per_member of them, so a compliment is fine but a full conversation is not), or a thread for every picture (the conversation happens there and text in the channel is removed), or off. chat is a channel to send people to. People who can manage messages are never touched. It works from whether a message has a picture, video, sticker or link preview and whether it replies to one. Needs the Manage Messages permission in the channel (and Create Public Threads for threads), and only works while the bot's Message Content permission is on, because Discord only shows uploads and link previews to a bot that has it. Only you see the answer.
/autorole
AdminsOnly you For people who manage roles: opens a private panel where you choose the roles the bot gives to new members by itself (up to five) and to new bots (up to three), whether to give them straight away or after a minute, ten minutes or an hour, and whether to wait until the member has passed the server's rules screening. It is off until you turn it on. For safety a role that carries Administrator or any Manage permission, a bot's own role, or one above the bot's highest role is never given, and that is checked again every time; you can only choose roles below your own highest role. Needs the Manage Roles permission. Only you see the panel.
/bulletin [names] [off]
AdminsOnly you For people who manage the server: makes a locked voice channel at the top of your channel list that works as a live sign. Its name changes about every five minutes, one thing at a time: the newest member ("🆕 New member: Mira"), the member count and how many joined today, who is online, daily messages, the busiest channel, people in voice, the peak hour, boosts, whose birthday it is (see /birthday), and milestones like 1,000 members, a new boost level, the server's anniversary or an online record (a milestone is shown for a day). Names are shown unless you run /bulletin names:False, which shows counts instead. The messages, busiest channel and peak hour use the server's analytics counts, so they only appear while those are on. Run /bulletin again to see it or change names, and /bulletin off to delete the channel. Needs the Manage Channels permission. Only you see the answers.
/purge amount [user] [only] [include_pinned]
AdminsOnly you For people who can manage messages: deletes the latest messages in the channel you use it in. amount is how many (1 to 100). user deletes only that person's, only chooses everyone, only bots or only people, and include_pinned also deletes pinned messages (they are kept otherwise). Discord only lets a bot bulk-delete messages from the last two weeks, and a big one (more than 30) asks you to confirm first. Needs the Manage Messages permission (for you and for the bot). Only you see the answer.
/colourroles
AdminsOnly you For people who manage roles: opens the private colour setup for this server. Choose which palettes members can use, add colours of your own, say whether members may type any colour, limit how many colour roles the server ends up with, choose the role they sit under, limit /colour to members who have a role, delete unused colour roles now, or post a colour wall with a Choose your colour button. Needs the Manage Roles permission.
🎮 Play and chat
Games, looking for a group, icebreakers, confessions and SIGIL CONQUEST.
/lfg game [players] [note] [when] [ping] [voice]
Posts a looking-for-group message in the channel. People press Join, and it shows your playstyle, platform and region from your card. You can say when you start (now, in 15 or 30 minutes, or in an hour) and pick a role to ping (only roles the server lets everyone mention). As a Supporter you can also pick the voice channel to meet in, which people click to join. When the last place is taken, everyone in the group is pinged together with the start time and the voice channel. The post closes by itself after 2 hours, or when you press Close, and its card then shows that it ended.
/groups
Only you Lists the groups in this server that are still looking for players, with a link to each post. Only you see the answer.
/spy
Starts a round of Spy in the channel: press Join to play, and once at least 3 people have, the host presses Start (or Close to cancel; the lobby also closes on its own after 5 minutes if it hasn't started). Everyone gets the same word by DM except one random impostor, who gets none. Then it's one word at a time: the bot reposts the card each turn and pings whoever's up, and posting in the channel is your word - once everyone's gone, vote below for who you think the impostor is. Catch them and the game ends; vote out someone else and whoever's left goes again - it keeps looping until the impostor is caught or only two players remain. The host can press End game at any point to stop early.
/spyend
Only you Ends the round of Spy you're hosting right now, wherever it's at - the same as pressing End game, for when the card has scrolled out of sight in a busy channel. Only works on a game you started. Only you see the answer.
/bomb [difficulty]
Starts a game of Bomb party in the channel: press Join to play, and once at least 2 people have, the host presses Start (or Close to cancel; the lobby also closes on its own after 5 minutes if it hasn't started). The difficulty is Easy (only the most common chunks of letters, mostly two letters, and a long slow fuse), Normal (the default: everyday chunks and the usual fuse) or Hard (any chunk enough words contain, odd ones included, and a quicker fuse); choose it with the difficulty option, or the host can change it with the difficulty button in the lobby. A chunk of letters, like ING, appears and the bomb lands on one player, who has to type a real English word containing it right in the channel before the bomb goes off - nobody can see the fuse, and it gets shorter as the game goes on. A ✅ means the word counted and the bomb moves on, a ❌ means try again, and a 🔁 means it was already used this game. If the bomb goes off in your hands you lose a life (everyone starts with 2); every letter in the words you type is crossed off your bonus letters, and crossing them all off wins a life back (3 at most). The last player standing wins. The host can press End game at any point. Needs the bot to be able to read the words people type.
/keepup [mode]
Starts a game of Keep up! in the channel - a memory game: press Join to play, and once at least 2 people have, the host presses Start (or Close to cancel; the lobby also closes on its own after 5 minutes if it hasn't started). On your turn you're pinged and press I'm ready once you're looking at the channel; the bot then shows a string of digits for 3 seconds, hides it, and you have to type it back exactly. Every turn is one digit longer than the last: the first player gets 1 digit, the next 2, then 3, and it keeps going round the table getting longer. There are two modes: regular (the default) is a chain - each turn is the same digits as the turn before with one new digit added on the end, so paying attention on other people's turns helps - and wildcard gives every turn a brand-new random string. You get one try - a mistake, or running out of time, puts you out, and the last player standing wins. The host can press End game at any point. What you type back is deleted as soon as the bot has checked it, so the chat stays clear and nobody can copy your answer (the bot needs the Manage Messages permission in the channel for that). Needs the bot to be able to read what people type.
/conquest [enroll|rename|channel|pledge|status|notify]
SIGIL CONQUEST is a season-long game between Discord servers: every server that joins is a faction, and you can belong to many servers but fight for only one. `/conquest enroll name channel` (server Administrators only) enters a server under a faction name you type yourself (many servers share a name, so no two factions may) with a dedicated read-only channel where its news is posted, `/conquest rename name` changes that name, and `/conquest channel` (Administrators) assigns a new channel if that one breaks - until then nobody in the server can take a CONQUEST action. `/conquest pledge` chooses the server you fight for: run it in that server. Swapping is only possible in the first days of a season, and not too often. A server needs enough pledged players before it takes the field. `/conquest status` shows where you stand, and `/conquest notify` turns direct messages for finished jobs on or off (off unless you choose). `/conquest train amount` (Administrators) trains a batch of troops for the server from its wheat and iron: at least 100 troops, one batch at a time. `/conquest expand side` (Administrators) claims one more tile of land on that side, paid in wood, stone and iron. The answers are posted in the channel, for everyone to see.
/mine
CONQUEST: starts a timed mining job. When it finishes, the stone goes into your server's shared stockpile - never your own. You can run one job at a time, and you need a Sigil profile and a pledge (see /conquest). The answer is posted in the channel, for everyone to see.
/chop
CONQUEST: starts a timed woodcutting job. When it finishes, the wood goes into your server's shared stockpile - never your own. You can run one job at a time, and you need a Sigil profile and a pledge (see /conquest). The answer is posted in the channel, for everyone to see.
/farm
CONQUEST: starts a timed farming job. When it finishes, the wheat goes into your server's shared stockpile - never your own. You can run one job at a time, and you need a Sigil profile and a pledge (see /conquest). The answer is posted in the channel, for everyone to see.
/extract
CONQUEST: starts a timed iron-mining job. When it finishes, the iron goes into your server's shared stockpile - never your own. You can run one job at a time, and you need a Sigil profile and a pledge (see /conquest). The answer is posted in the channel, for everyone to see.
/icebreaker
Posts a random icebreaker question in the channel, from Sigil's own list plus any this server's admins added with /promptadd.
/truthordare choice
Posts a random truth or dare in the channel, from Sigil's own list plus any this server's admins added with /promptadd.
/confess [prompt]
Only you Opens a box to write something anonymously, in your own words - blank by default. prompt:True fills it with a random idea from the shared bank instead, if you're stuck for what to write (you can still change it to anything). Posted in this server's confession channel with no name attached; nothing on Discord ever shows who wrote it. Needs an admin to have chosen a confession channel first (/setup ... confess:#channel). Only you see the confirmation.
