Bump reminder
Remind your server to bump on DISBOARD when its wait is over, in your own words, with the roles you choose pinged, and say so right after a bump.
Servers climb DISBOARD's list when someone uses its /bump command, and it can be used again every two hours. Sigil can remind your server when that time comes round.
Turn it on
/bumpremind switches the reminder on or off (you need the Manage Server permission). Each time it answers privately with what the reminder will say and a button to the dashboard's Bump reminder page, where you change the words, the roles and the channel.
Once it is on, nothing else is needed. When somebody bumps the server with DISBOARD's /bump, Sigil waits two hours and then posts your reminder.
Make it yours
On the Bump reminder page of the dashboard:
Your words. Write the reminder however you like, or leave it empty for the standard one. Bold, italic and line breaks work like in Discord. Three variables are filled in for you:
{server}is the name of the server.{bumper}mentions whoever bumped last, and is the only way a person gets pinged.{roles}is where the roles you chose are pinged. Without it they are pinged on a line at the end.
Who it pings. Up to three roles, for example a Bumpers role that people join to be reminded. A role has to be set to mentionable in Discord for Sigil to ping it.
@everyoneand@herenever notify anyone from this reminder.Where it is posted. By default in the channel where the bump happened. You can pick one channel instead; Sigil needs to see it and send messages in it.
DISBOARD Pro. If your server has Pro, tick My server has DISBOARD Pro. With Pro DISBOARD lets you bump again after 30 minutes while there have been fewer than 12 bumps in the last 24 hours (each bump stops counting 24 hours after it was made), and after the 12th the wait is two hours after the last bump, or sooner once an old bump stops counting. Sigil follows the same rule. Bumps made on DISBOARD's website count for DISBOARD but are not seen by Sigil, so the reminder can come a little early.
A confirmation after each bump. Right under DISBOARD's answer, Sigil posts a small green message saying who will be reminded and when ("I will remind your roles to bump again in 2 hours"). You can switch it off, change its title and words (the variables are
{server},{bumper},{roles},{time}and{at}) and have it removed after 1 minute, 10 minutes or an hour. The roles are shown but nobody is pinged by it. A bump DISBOARD refused gets no confirmation, because no reminder was set.
A live preview shows how each message will read. Press Save the bump reminder when you are happy with it.
What Sigil uses
To start the reminder, Sigil only needs to know that a message from DISBOARD was the answer to a /bump command, and who used the command. It keeps your settings until Sigil leaves the server, and, while a reminder is waiting, which server and channel it is for and when it is due. That is removed as soon as the reminder has been posted. If you say your server has DISBOARD Pro, Sigil also keeps the times of your bumps for 24 hours (nothing else about them), to count them.
Good to know
- It reminds about DISBOARD only, and the waiting time is DISBOARD's own limit: two hours, or the Pro rule above.
- A second
/bumpwhile a reminder is waiting (DISBOARD refuses it) changes nothing, so the reminder still arrives on time. - If Sigil was offline when the reminder was due, it posts it as soon as it is back, unless it is more than twelve hours late.
- If the role was deleted or can no longer be pinged, or Sigil cannot post in the channel, the Overview tab tells you.
