Invites and analytics
See which invite links grow your server and how the server is doing over 7, 30 or 90 days.
Server analytics
The dashboard's Analytics tab shows how a server is doing over the last 7, 30 or 90 days:
- members over time (the server pulse) and who joined and left each day,
- messages, and how many different people wrote,
- the busiest days and hours, and the busiest channels,
- which Sigil commands people use,
- how old new members' accounts are, and how long people stayed,
- time in voice channels,
- what Sigil did for you (welcomes posted, roles given).
A few plain sentences at the top pick out what stands out.
What is kept
Sigil keeps totals for each day: it counts that a message was sent, in which channel and in which hour. It counts only in a server that has been set up. An admin can turn counting off, or delete the history, on the Analytics tab. Days older than 90 are forgotten.
Invite tracking
Invite tracking tells you which invite link brought each new member and who made it. It is off until you turn it on.
Turn it on
- Give Sigil's role the Manage Server permission. Discord only shows a bot a server's invites if it has it.
- Open the Invites tab of the dashboard and switch tracking on. It starts within a minute.
What you see
- Who has brought in the most people, which links work best, and the latest joins, with how many of each person's invites are still in the server.
- People who join through your server's own short address (a vanity link) are counted too.
- When Sigil cannot be sure which invite was used, for example if two people join at the same moment, it says it could not tell instead of guessing.
/invites
Members run /invites to see how many people they brought in and how many are still here, plus the top inviters. It only shows numbers, never who joined.
What is kept
It only counts people who join after you turn it on. Bots are not noted. For each person it keeps a name, which invite they used and when they joined and left, and nothing else about them. Only people who manage the server can see who joined. You can delete the history or switch tracking off whenever you like, and it is all deleted when Sigil leaves.
It is good practice to tell your members that invite tracking is on.
