Levels and the leaderboard
How you earn XP, how levels work, and how to see yours and your server's best.
Using Sigil earns you experience points (XP). XP adds up to a level, which shows on your profile and in /profile.
Earning XP
- Using a Sigil command earns 15 XP. To stop farming, each kind of command only counts once every five minutes.
- Accepting a friend request earns 40 XP, once for each friendship.
- Supporter members earn 10% more.
Levels
Each level asks for a little more than the last. Level 1 starts at 0 XP, and getting from level n to the next takes 200 x n XP: 200 for level 1 to 2, then 400, then 600, and so on.
Seeing your level
/level [user] posts a level card in the channel with your progress to the next level, your friend count and how long you have been on Sigil. Leave the user out to see your own.
Whenever an action gives you enough XP to level up, Sigil shows the same card the next time you send a message, wherever that happens to be.
The leaderboard
/leaderboard shows the highest Sigil levels among the people in the server, best first. Sigil cannot list a server's members, so it only finds people who both have a Sigil profile and have earned some XP. For each of them it asks Discord, one person at a time, whether they are in the server.
