Bot look
Give Sigil your server's own name, picture and banner. Comes with Ember for servers, or with Ember on the server owner's account.
Bot look lets your server give Sigil its own name, picture, banner and bio, so it wears your server's colours. It is Discord's per-server profile for a bot: it is still the same Sigil, shown differently to the members of your server only. Other servers are not affected, and nothing else Sigil does changes.
Bot look comes with Ember for servers on your server, or with Ember on the account of the server's owner (see Plans). Anyone can open the tab and try a look on to see the preview; it is only saved and shown in your server while one of those is active.
The free trial
A server with neither plan can try Bot look once, for 24 hours, free. The first thing you save on the Bot look tab (the words, or a picture) starts the 24 hours; the tab shows when they end. Then Sigil goes back to its normal look. What you saved is kept, and it comes back by itself the moment the server has Ember for servers or its owner has Ember. A server gets one trial, ever.
Setting it up
- Open your server on the dashboard and choose Bot look (under Set up).
- Type a name if you want one, and an optional about line.
- Choose a picture (square works best) and a banner (a wide picture works best). Pictures are saved the moment you choose them, and the preview shows them straight away.
- Press Save and apply. Sigil updates its look in your server within a few seconds.
You need the Manage Server permission to change it. Reset to Sigil's look removes everything and puts Sigil's normal look back.
What to know
- The name needs the Change Nickname permission for Sigil in your server. Without it, everything else is applied and the tab tells you the name is waiting for the permission.
- Pictures are cropped from the middle and made square (512 x 512) for the picture and wide (5 to 2) for the banner. Still pictures only: a moving one keeps its first frame.
- Discord limits how often a bot's profile can change. If Discord says to wait, Sigil tries again by itself a few minutes later.
- If the plans end, or the trial does: when the server has no Ember for servers and its owner has no Ember (or the owner changes to someone without it), Sigil goes back to its normal look in your server. What you saved is kept, and it comes back by itself when either returns.
- Please keep it kind: a look that pretends to be someone else, or breaks Discord's rules, can be removed.
