Squads

A small team that plays one game together. Make one, find one in Connect, ask to join, or invite players you find.

A squad is a small team of players for one game, with a name, a few words about it, and what it is like: when it plays, how it talks, its platform, region, language, playstyle and rank. People find squads in Connect, ask to join, and the leader answers on their Friends page.

Find a squad

Open the Connect tab on your own profile and switch from People to Squads.

  • Squads that fit you shows two squads for your games, new every 30 minutes.
  • Find a squad searches the open squads that still have a spot, with the same filters as the people search: game (it finishes the name as you type), platform, style, region, language, when they play and voice or text. Sort by best fit, most spots open, newest or biggest. Show full squads too adds the full ones.
  • Each card shows the members, what the squad is like and how well it fits what you filled in on your profile. Press Ask to join (you can add a few words on the squad's own page), or View to see everyone in it.
  • You never see a squad that has someone you blocked, or someone who blocked you.

Make a squad

Open Your squads (from the Connect tab, or at /squads) and fill in the form. Pick one of Sigil's games and say how many members you want, yourself included. Everything else is optional. A squad that is open shows in the search and takes requests; a closed one can still invite people.

  • The leader changes the squad, answers requests, removes members, hands the squad to another member, or disbands it.
  • A squad on the free plan has up to 6 members, you can lead 1 and be in 3. Ember raises that to 12 members, 3 led and 8 joined.
  • Squads led by an Ember member that fit your search show first, marked Featured (at most three).

Ask to join, and invitations

  • Ask to join: the leader sees it on the squad's page and on their Friends page, and answers Accept or Not now. A request waits three days. After Not now you can ask again after three days, and you are never told you were turned down.
  • Invite players: on a squad's page press Find players. It opens the Connect people search with the squad's game, platform, region, language, time and voice filled in. Press Invite on anyone who fits. They can be invited if they are shown on Connect or are your friend, and they answer on their Friends page.
  • Joining shows you on the squad's page, and the squad shows on your profile. You can leave any time from the squad's page.

Good to know

  • Blocking someone takes the two of you out of each other's squads and clears requests between you.
  • Squad names and notes cannot hold links or mentions.
  • Nothing is sent to Discord: requests and invitations live on the website.
