Weekly report

Once a week Sigil posts how your server did in the last seven days, in a channel you choose.

The weekly report is a short summary of how your server did over the last seven days, posted by Sigil in a channel you choose, on the weekday and hour you choose. It is built from the same daily totals as the Analytics tab, so it is only numbers.

The weekly report, short version. Ember for servers adds the busiest channels, commands and times.

Setting it up

  1. Open your server on the dashboard and choose Analytics (the server must be set up, and analytics on).
  2. In the Weekly report box, switch it on, choose the channel, the day and the hour (the hour is on the UTC clock), and press Save.
  3. Send one now posts a report straight away so you can see what it looks like. It does not change when the next one is due.

Switching it on never posts one at once: the first report comes at the next time you chose. Sigil needs View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links in that channel. If a report can't be posted (the channel was deleted, or the permissions are missing) the box says why, and Sigil tries again the next week.

The monthly summary

A server with Ember for servers also gets a monthly summary: the first weekly report of each month brings a second message with the last 30 days, in a few lines. It shows the members, the joins and leaves, the messages and the busiest channel, and what Sigil did for your server in that time: welcome messages posted, roles given to new members, role menu picks and scheduled posts sent. It goes in the same channel as the weekly report, so it needs no setting of its own, and it waits until the server has about two weeks of numbers.
